Through this time of social distancing, many of us have had to change our workout routine, including where we workout and who we workout with. Many of us have had to transition from working out with friends at a gym/studio to working out alone at home.
Since transitioning to virtual workouts, I've been hearing a lot about how challenging at-home workouts are. At NUMA, we hear daily how they are "sooooo hard" and "soooo sweaty"! How AWFUL they are! How you almost died!! lol!
Lots of questions are coming my way, too! Here they are...with my answers:
Are these workouts supposed to be this hard?? Yes! What's wrong with me?! Nothing! Is it because now all of a sudden I am weak?! No! Why is this so hard?! Is it because I am doing this alone? Probably. Is it because I don't have equipment? Yes. Is it because it's all bodyweight and dumbbells? Yep. Is this hard for EVERYONE?! YES! So it's not, just me? No! Be encouraged! Please know bodyweight workouts are HARD! For EVERYONE! If these workouts are challenging you, this means you are pushing hard, and they are changing you!!
Keep up the great work! Embrace the at-home workouts while we are in this season of being home. Learn from them. Pay attention to your body. Push hard. Work on correct form. Foam roll and stretch to continue to take care of you and feel your best.
